About

Jakub Stanek was born in 1988 in Warsaw, Poland. He studied photography at the Academy of Photography in Warsaw and at the Institute of Creative Photography (ITF) in Opava. In 2014, he joined the Sputnik Mentoring Program, which played a significant role in his development as a photographer. In 2015, he was recognized among the 50 best young Polish photographers in the "Debuts 2015" selection.

Stanek’s work offers fresh perspectives by exploring lesser-known topics. His documentary approach centers on creating an intimate dialogue between himself and his subjects, building narratives rich in both visual and emotional layers deeply rooted in cultural understanding. His focus revolves around the contemporary human experience, continually evolving as he draws inspiration from his varied interests.

For Stanek, photography is a means of deep reflection, capturing moments that invite viewers to pause and look beneath the surface.
